Patio-Products will ship their products to the following countries EU, USA, Canada, Australia and Japan. Below we a breakdown of the costs. If have any questions please feel to contact us by phone or email. If we are aware of duty customs payable by you we will endeavor to notify you before we ship your order.
Europe
Unless you hold a valid EU vat number you pay the UK retail price including VAT there are no exceptions to this. There is no other duty to be paid. Shipment various according to weight and size of the product we have three shipment bands – upto 1kg which is £7.00 upto 2kg which is £12.00 normal delivery times from posting is 5days.
Australia
Anything under the combined value of AU$1000 or less sent to you by post can be imported duty and GST free. So for example if you order one of our garden gift sets such as the “GA Outdoor Garden Tool Set c/w Burgundy Bag” this has a retail price of AU$57. As you are outside the EU you do not pay the UK VAT. On top of this you have postage cost which is a further AU$24.95. So the total you pay is AU$81.95 delivered to your door. You can order as many items as you like so long as you do not exceed AU$1000.
For orders over AU$1000 it gets more complicated as they are liable to duty and GST tax. Currently we have no appointed agent in Austrialia to handle our customs duty. All items or combined items worth more than AU$1000 will be charge 5% duty and 10%GST on the total including the freight charge.
So for example you purchase an item of value AU$1500 and the cost of freight is AU$200. You will have to pay to Austrialian customs 5% of 1500 which is AU$75 and GST on AU$1775 (Yes you do pay GST on the duty!) which would be AU$178. So the total expect would AU$253. Note you will not get your goods until this has been paid.
Summary
- Orders under AU$1000 no duty or tax to pay
- Orders over AU$1000 duty of 5% payable and GST of 10% on total shipment inc freight payable by you.

(Below is taken from the customs website)
In the case of commercial importations where goods are valued at CAN$1600 or more, the importer will be advised that a mail shipment has arrived; the importer will then be required to present the appropriate customs documentation to obtain release of the goods from customs. Release on Minimum Documentation (RMD) is allowed, provided the importer/owner or customs broker has posted the required security for release prior to payment privileges. Form B3, Canada Customs Coding Form, Type M (Mail) cash entries will be required for importers who have not posted security for release prior to payment. Japan
We are still researching this but the information we have is as follows:
In the case of goods whose total tax charges, including tariff duty, are less than ¥10,000, and in the case of goods whose duty is less than ¥300,000 and over ¥10,000; and if an importer wishes to have them delivered, the parcel is directly delivered together with a "Notice of Assessment for International Mail" and a statement of payment issued by the overseas mail-sub branch customs sent via the post office. You may receive the parcel by paying the notified amount of duty together with post office handling fee (¥200 per parcel).
In other cases, only a "Notice of Assessment for International Mail" is delivered, but not the parcel or the statement of payment. You may go to the post office listed in the Notice of Assessment and receive the parcel by paying duty and a post office handling fee.
